Stevens Middle School History Day Regional Results
Posted on 03/21/2019
Stevens Middle School History Day Regional ResultsCongratulations to our 50 eighth grade students who competed at the History Day Regional competition at Olympic College in Bremerton!  Stevens Middle School competed against ten other middle schools.

We had exhibits, documentary entries and one webpage entry--- all related to this year’s theme---Triumph and Tragedy.  All participating students completed a project, process paper, and annotated bibliography.

“Amazingly, we had two group documentary entries from our school take first place, and one group documentary take second place!” said Laurie Day, History Day advisor.  “This represents the work of ten students from our school!”

All three of these groups will progress to the state competition at Central Washington University in May.

The following groups will advance to the next level of competition.  Their regional results are specified as well.

911 group

9/11, When Tragedy Becomes a Turning Point by Joe Hill, Reef Gelder, Kaeden Murphy and Jacob Miller, first place.

The Spy Who Brought You Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Ana Belle Campbell and Liberty Lauer, first place.

Mercury: A Triumph and Tragedy by Brielle Murray, Gabby Montana, Courtney Smith and Jacklyn Minnoch, second place.
