Kindergarten Readiness Tips

Children must be 5 years old prior to September 1, 2013 to enroll for the 2013-14 school year. Parents or guardians are asked to provide the child's birth certificate and immunization record during registration.

Register at your neighborhood school, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. now through June 28, 2013. Registration re-opens on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 and continues through the opening of the 2013-14 school year.

Getting a Certified Birth Certificate, Clallam County

For people born in Washington State during or after 1921, certified copies of birth certificates can be obtained by submitting a completed application to the Department of Health & Human Services Port Angeles Vital Records Office at 111 East 3rd Street, Suite 1A . Office hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00-11:30 a.m. and 1:00-4:00 p.m.

For applications received Monday through Thursday, the birth certificate will be available for pickup Fridays after 1:00 p.m. or can be mailed upon request. For applications received on Fridays, the birth certificate will be ready the following Friday.

Certificates cost $20, payable by cash, check or money order to the Department of Health & Human Services when the order is placed (exact change required). For an additional fee of $10 (total $30), the service can be expedited and ready next day after 1:00 p.m.
