Jeff Lunt Named Franklin Elementary School Interim Principal
Jeff Lunt
Jeff Lunt has been named interim principal at Franklin Elementary School effective immediately.

Amity Butler, Franklin Elementary School principal since July 2010, has accepted a position as Director of Accelerated Models and Programs in the Northshore School District, where she will be in charge of Title, LAP, ELL and Highly Capable Programs for the district.  Butler has worked in the Port Angeles School District since 1994 as a teacher at Dry Creek Elementary.

“I have so much to be thankful for living in Port Angeles for the past 25 years,” said Amity.  “I always felt my job as a principal was to support staff so they could support students. I hope I achieved this goal and I hope to achieve this goal in my next position.”

Jeff Lunt has been with the Port Angeles School District since August 2004 and taught at Roosevelt Middle School, Port Angeles High School and Hamilton Elementary before his assignment at Port Angeles High School in August 2014 as assistant principal.

“I am so excited about the opportunity to work with the students, staff and parents of Franklin Elementary,” said Jeff. “Franklin is blessed with an outstanding staff that is committed to the education and well-being of the children of Port Angeles. I know the parents are supportive of Franklin Elementary, so I am looking forward to working with them as well.

“My goal is to continue to provide the leadership and support that Franklin has become accustomed to under the direction of Mrs. Butler,” Jeff added.  “I cannot wait to see all of the students on that first day of school.”

“Jeff has been a successful assistant principal at the high school for the past five years,” said Superintendent Marty Brewer.  “Most of his teaching experience prior to and during his time in PASD has been at the elementary level, and this will serve him well in this new assignment.”
