Port Angeles Friends of the Library continues to sponsor the Books for Teachers program, a book sale for Port Angeles School District teachers and staff, on Friday and Saturday, September 7 and 8, at the Port Angeles Main Branch Library. Up to thirty teachers will receive $50 vouchers to purchase books.

All Stevens Middle School seventh graders had to opportunity to experience the unique environment of Hurricane Ridge during spring science field trips. “We improve the science curriculum by adding relevant local connections and hands-on experience,” said Daniel Lieberman, science teacher. “When the Olympic National Park is in your backyard, why not take the classroom there?”

Stuff the Bus, our annual school supplies collection event, takes place at the PA Wal-Mart on Friday, July 27 from 2 to 6 p.m. Look for the yellow and black school bus! School supplies donations will be redistributed to families in need at our annual Back to School Event on Saturday, August 18 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Jefferson Elementary, 218 E 12th St.
