What My Home Means to Me 2019

Grand prize winners were announced at an awards breakfast for contest winners and family members on May 9 at the First Presbyterian Church where students read their essays aloud.

Grand prize winners are Stella Fradkin (first place), Layla Parker (second place) and Dylann Christensen (third place), all from Franklin Elementary.

Classroom winners (finalists) include:

  • Stella Fradkin (first), Roslyn Crow (second) and Payton Housman (third) from Dawn Williams’ class at Franklin Elementary.
  • Layla Parker (first), Angel Parrish (second) and Reid Spaulding (third) from Jennifer Soule’s class at Franklin Elementary.
  • Dylann Christensen (first), Elexis Possinger (second) and Luke Blevins (third) in Debbie Erickson’s class at Franklin Elementary.
  • Imanii Glover (first), Clara Berry (second) and Jessica Sue Daracunas (third) in Carrie Davis’ class at Dry Creek Elementary.
  • Sawyer Davis (first), Sophia Deese (second), and Rozelle Leftwich (third) in Tami Parrill’s class at Dry Creek Elementary.
  • Hadleigh Tokarczyk (first), Chloe Matte (second), and Colton Page (third) from Mary Krzysiak’s class at Dry Creek Elementary.
  • Eden Bailey (first), Issac Hass (second), and Ashayla Holloway (third) in Brook Anderson’s class at Hamilton Elementary.
  • Sage Moody (second), and Leland Johnston (third) in Elizabeth Martinez’ class at Hamilton Elementary.
  • Kylen Simmons (first), Juno Rognlien (second), and Allison Jester (third) in Melissa Holcomb’s class at Jefferson Elementary.
  • Ethan Wheeler (first), Erik Taylor (second), and Felix Gonzales (third) in Evan Murphy’s class at Jefferson Elementary.
  • Persephone Perry (first), Moira Martino (second), and Mia Francis (third) in Erika Kuch’s class at Roosevelt Elementary.
  • Paisley Jules (first), Kat Peterson (second), and Audrey Hollingsworth (third) in Geff Cobb’s class at Roosevelt Elementary.
  • Alice Johnson (first), Lorellie Welch (second), and Sarah Butterworth (third) in Lambert Grimes’ class at Roosevelt Elementary.
  • Issabella Pinnell (first), Casper Erickson (second), and Kira Hartman (third) in Gail Kite’s class at Roosevelt Elementary.

A special section featuring the students’ artwork and essays and listing the winners was produced by the Peninsula Daily News and distributed with the May 10 edition.
