Stairclimb Challenge February 20 at Downtown Fountain StepsPort Angeles, Wash. – The Port Angeles Stairclimb Challenge, an annual fundraising effort dedicated to helping Port Angeles Firefighters in their effort to raise funds to beat cancer, wraps up its final organized climb on Monday, February 20 at the Port Angeles downtown fountain stairs.  The climb starts at 4:00 p.m.

The local climbs serve as a countdown to local firefighters’ participation in the March 12 Scott Firefighter’s Stairclimb, a climb up to the top of the Columbia Center in Seattle wearing full firefighter gear.  The annual event is a fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Three previous climbs were held:

November 14, 2016: Climb 1, Klahanne Gymnastics, Impact Fastpitch, Port Angeles Swim Club, Stevens Middle School and Dry Creek Elementary School Staff

December 5, 2016: Climb 2, Port Angeles High School Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC), United States Coast Guard

January 9, 2017:
Climb 3, PAHS Wrestling, United States Marines, Stevens Middle School student

Proceeds from each year’s event supports The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding cancer research.
